I refer to myself as a pencil artist, though I have some background in watercolors and enjoy painting now and then as well. I dabbled with watercolors in college but continued to return to my beloved pencils. I love the simplicity they offer and the complexity that is yet still possible with this timeless medium. My husband David and I ranch in South Central Kansas, and between our day to day work, our children and grandchildren and our everyday struggles, my inspiration for western art abounds.
My Blog
As the days pass, we draw closer and closer to our Spring Works. Calves and colts are hitting the ground and a much needed rain fell gently to the patched ground just last night. Our busy season has arrived! I'm working hard to squeeze a little at time into my days and I'm feeling excited about a couple of projects that are in the works! The latest has been sketched and on my radar for (literally) years, and it's finally on the table and progressing! The pull for perfectionism in my art can be c
